TREE PRUNING
UPLIFTING
Removing or reducing the lower limbs of a tree can be valuable if you need clearance for vehicles, better visibility, or more light into your garden.
THINNING
Removing dead branches and poorly formed branch unions that are crossing or running against each other allows for better airflow, sun penetration and, over time develops better tree form.
CANOPY REDUCTION
Reducing overall size by 10-20% may be of benefit when tree branches are obstructing buildings or power lines, or if the tree is mis-shapen after a storm or bad pruning.

TREE SURGERY
STORM AND WIND DAMAGE
When branches are torn from trees they can cause large unsightly wounds or leave large stubs that the tree may find difficult to repair by natural callusing.
An un-callused wound can become decayed and infested with pests. This could lead to the eventual death of the tree.
Split trees are also common after storms or strong winds and usually require the tree to be pruned or removed. Professional tree surgery can help avoid long-term damage.

TREE REMOVAL
DEAD, DAMAGED OR OBSTRUCTIVE TREES
Tree removal may be required when:branches are falling and the trunk shows signs of decay, disease or severe insect infestation
branches or roots are growing too close to your home, outdoor structures, pipes, power lines, or yard. These pose a risk and may void your home insurance if they touch the roof.
a tree obstructs the view of your home or creates too much shade.

FREE MULCH
IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF YOUR SOIL
When I prune or remove trees, I place the branches, wood off-cuts, brushy material and other vegetation through my on-site chipper which creates a small load of organic mulch.
And I encourage you to consider keeping it.
Why would I want mulch?
Mulch has a huge range of benefits for your garden, such as:
improving the health of your soil for growing plants, flowers and food
conserving water through retaining the moisture in your soil
insulating your soil and protecting roots from extreme temperatures
discouraging the growth of weeds
enhancing the look and feel of your garden.
Over the longer term, organic mulch decomposes, leading to improvements in soil structure, nutrient levels, permeability, aeration, fertility and biological activity.
Mulch can be applied to bare ground or can be laid around existing garden beds. Mulch should be applied at 5 to 10cm thickness, however care should be taken around trees to ensure there is no build-up of mulch against the trunk of the tree.
The average load size is approx 1 cubic meter, and I will only offer it to you if it is high-quality and disease-free mulch, with no bamboo or palm fronds.
